Sondra Dublinsky is a passionate speaker dedicated to educating children and families, teachers and students alike about addiction, as Sondra truly knows firsthand the devastation of addiction. A one-time public school teacher, who lost her ability to teach in the public schools, Sondra gained recovery and soon started to give back in the way of teaching in "other classrooms."

She is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Licensed Social Worker and National Certified Gambling Counselor.  She still loves to teach and leads instructional classes on many varied topics including: Initial Interviewing, Differential Diagnoses, Codependency and Families, Perinatal/Fetal Alcohol Spectrum, Compulsive Gambling, Co-Occurring Disorders, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/Motivational Interviewing, and Addiction and Recovery Tools.

Sondra is currently the Supervisor of Admissions and Community Programs at John Brooks Recovery Center in New Jersey.  She is a strong advocate for recovery, youth and mental health.  Sondra was an appointed member of the New Jersey Adolescent Addiction Task Force; appointed member of the New Jersey Governor’s Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect, appointed member of Atlantic County Juvenile Justice Commission and served as chairperson for committee on the New Jersey Mental Health Planning Council.  Sondra was also awarded recognition to the National Social Work Honor Society.

Sondra offers a wealth of knowledge coordinating relevant agencies with linking clients to essential services, prioritizing access to housing, mental health, medical and entitlement resources. She believes in an integrated approach to treatment planning on clients’ individual strengths and identified needs.

Sondra offers warmth, humor and over 25 years of experience working with schools and non-profits on addiction and recovery services and solutions. Sondra has a Masters degree in School Guidance Counseling from Rowan University and a Masters degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. She resides in New Jersey and spends summers enjoying the beach. She believes in recovery and the power of education to open hearts and minds to create sustainable change.
